I updated the second post in this thread to include the most current relic (setting/gem/rune/device), title, scroll of empowerment, and star-lit crystal information as of Update 28.4.1 (March 2021). I included some second and third best options for those w/o access to the best options.

Gil's first post is still pertinent regarding the actual imbuement process.

The tradition was continued!! Pi(e) Day went well, I sent out about 300 pies (which only got me to about halfway through the level 91-100 group, after pie-ing levels 1 - 90). I got back quite a few 'Thank you' messages. I would like to try and remember to plan better for next year, since I really do like the effect of having a bunch of kinnies help, so we can just blast out a bunch of pies, instead of me individually sending one pie after another out. (It took me about 2 hours or so to send out the pies.)

I tried giving every piece of information I had. They wouldn't accept anything but the email. I even gave them biographies of the characters. Still, I'm trying to make the best of it. They won't delete the account, as far as I'm aware, so maybe one day down the road I'll be able to access it again.

So it's easily been years. Last time I played LOTRO, they were Turbine games. Now, it seems they've moved on to Standing Stone. My subscription was lost, as were all of my characters. ALL OF THEM. I have rejoined Arkenstone, and will be recreating Tinutheil (possibly need a spelling change, who knows) forthwith. I'm SO MAD. But I hope the Kin is doing well and am glad to be returning after a long time away living life and other adventures. <3 See you all online soon. -Tin

Update 20.1.2 Hidden Changes (effective May 31, 2017)

I confirmed the 6/6/2017 patch fixed the problem. The way SSG fixed the problem is they reduced the level of all mobs in the Silent Street and Throne of the Dread Terror to 105, so the instances are now slightly easier than they were before 5/31/2017.

With no physical mitigation at all, Rakothas's first distributed damage attack does 119101 damage, down from 131658. This difference appears to be due to the lowering of his level from 108 to 105.

I then equipped just enough physical mitigation (18071) to reach the maximum mitigation (60%) per my character's tooltip, and I took 47640 damage, which is almost exactly 40% of 119101. Lastly, I overstacked physical mitigation (28830) and confirmed the damage taken did not change (still 47640).

If you mean a new leveling minstrel on landscape, just trait red, use warspeech, and blow things up on the move.

If you are looking for a minstrel guide to healing group content, Dadi's guide is up to date and pretty good.

Dadi focuses on blue traited Resonance stance healing. The LOTRO forums have a lot of discussion currently of yellow traited Resonance and Melody builds. Healing in yellow includes more fellowship buffs and/or heals with zero or nearly zero induction times, but the heals are lower overall.

For group content, I would start with following Dadi's guide, and as you get more experience and knowledge of the various group/raid instances, you'll get a feel for which ones lend itself to using yellow instead of blue. For example, I always healed Draigoch in yellow because he interrupts inductions so much.

Turbine is asking for feedback: Arkenstone changes

Hi All.

You might have already seen this on the forums but for those that haven't, Turbine has made some changes to the Arkenstone and Evernight servers to help improve performance and is asking for our feedback. Please see the original forum link below:

Basicially, they're asking three questions:

Was your game performance better or worse after Update 18?

Especially in group content such as any 6-man instances, did you notice any difference in performance?

If you play on another server along with Arkenstone or Evernight, was the performance better or worse on that server after Update 18 compared to Arkenstone or Evernight?

I just wanted to spread the word and make sure the kin knows about it.

Vangard Spec for BB's

A few folk have asked about playing Vanguard in BB's, so here is what I know:

Vanguard skills like Rending bark don't stack, so generally 1 vanguard is enough per instance.

Vanguard is only really needed for 6 man Pel., 3 man DoMT, 6 man Hammer and 12 man Wall.

Vanguard is less important with a high DPS group, generally these groups can burn thru the mobs fast enough even without a player in vangaurd spec.

You can switch between specs as needed, but changing out of vanguard will cost you some kill streak.

Finally, I am posting a screen pic of the vanguard spec I use. I found in on the web and it seems very effective to me, allowing for decent engineer traps while giving you full kill streak and use of rending bark.

Time for Load Test #3 for the new hardware! This time the theme will be Festival of Festivals! Thanks to all who participated in the first BB night. Hopefully we will have more next time and run all 3 6 mans. Anyone who needs to run the 2 MT bb solo I'm sure we can get you up to speed. And for the record, *I* do not discriminate on level. I have to keep incentive for Dod to sign up cuz I don't believe he has any 100's yet. I mean since when did we NOT carry Dod?

Remember, if you are looking for star-lit crystals, this is the only way to guarantee currency which will allow you to barter them, if I remember the conversation correctly. They are 500 stars of merit. I think 2 solos, 2 3man I managed about 300+ last night.
